Extra-Curricular
There is a wide variety of club activities for children to join.
They are held either at lunch time or after school.
The clubs may change from term to term although some may run for the whole year. The majority of the clubs are run by school staff but often we have visiting specialists, for example, athletics coaching from Somerset coaches. Our recent clubs have included:
KS2
Netball, Hockey, Football, Engineering, Choir, Games Club, Writing Club, Chess, Tag rugby, Girls' football, Choir, Science...

KS1
Multi-skills, Singing, Football (Y2), Drama, Writing
All children are expected to make a commitment to a club for at least a term.
We also look for opportunities for our children to try different sports and activities.
Recently Class 3 had the chance to try Tri-golf and all KS2 received coaching from Bristol Rugby.

We enter lots of local cluster and regional events especially in music and sport. We recently represented North Somerset at tennis and won the regional Future Schools Rugby tournament.
We have an annual residential camp which in recent years has taken place in locations in Devon and Dorset. In September 2025 Y6 visited Osmington Bay in Dorset and took part in a range of adventurous sports from abseiling to high ropes, tunneling to go-karting... We attended Camp with our sister Federation School, Wrington C of E Primary, and made lots of friendships which we will be able to rekindle at secondary school.

Competitions
Children participate in lots of competitions, ranging from Youth Speak, Young Chef, Young Writer, Young Artist and Young Musician etc.
Burrington recently won the Regional STEM Engineering Challenge beating 23 local primary schools.
